European engineering universities examine a number of methods to meet the requirements of the “knowledge triangle” involving education, research and innovation. These include the Industrial Campus Program initiated by the Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) in cooperation with the Hungarian Government, which program utilizes previous successes, and features the goals below:
to move university education closer to domestic and international labour market needs,
due to BME’s uniquely broad engineering specialization spectrum and outstanding education quality, the program considers its mission to provide businesses with professionals primarily from the top levels of education hierarchy (MSc and PhD),
our professionals leaving the university should be able to immediately integrate into the organisation and work of the business,
the program should assist the expansion of the activities of Hungarian businesses into research and development and the investment decision making to this effect,
it should support the targeted development of the domestic supplier sector.
